He born in 1979 in Caldas das Taipas, north of Portugal.
He began the music studies at the Wind Band of Caldas das Taipas with 11 years .
In 1995 come into the “Conservatório de Música do Porto” on the saxophone class of teacher Francisco Ferreira.
Later, he apply to the “Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espectáculo do Porto” where he completed a Superior Degree. With a Superior Diploma in Saxophone, Master in Pedagogy of Saxophone, has attended several masterclasses with renowed professors like Daniel Deffaiet, Claude Delangle, Jean Yves Formeau, Vincent David, Pierric Leman, Joel Batteau…

[tabs tab1=»Biografía» tab2=»Vídeos»] [tab1] He collaborates with regularity in the follow orchestras “Brácara Augusta”, “Sinfonietta do Porto”, “Orquestra do Norte”, “Orquestra de Câmara do Minho”, “Orquestra Luso-Alemã”, “Orquestra Artave”, “Orquestra Portuguesa de Saxofones” and performed with the following conductors Kevin Wauldron, William Malambri, José Ferreira Lobo, Yuri Nasuskin, Jan Cober and others. he participated in CD recordings to RTP, RDP, RTC, editions Molennar – Nederlands, “Instituto de Santo António dos Portugueses, Roma – Italy.Was the first saxofone winner of the 1st prize in the Portuguese competition “Prémio Helena Sá e Costa”. In 2012 was invited to join the 35th International Saxophone Symposium at George Mason University, Washington, USA.
As a soloist he has performed several times with “Orquestra de Sopros da Academia Valentim Moreira de Sá”, “Orquestra do Norte”, “Banda Militar do Porto”, “Banda Força Aérea Portuguesa”, “Orquestra de Sopros do Conservatório de Música Calouste Gulbenkian de Braga”, “Orquestra de Sopros da Escola Profissional de Música de Viana do Castelo”, “Orquestra Portuguesa de Saxofones”, “Orquestra de Saxofones do Minho “Orquestra Sinfonietta do Porto”.
Edited in 2014, the CD «Metamorphoses», with music of F. Shubert, C. Franck, P. Hindemith and the Portuguese composer Joaquim Santos.
He is the artistic director of the Minho Saxophone Orchestra.
He teaches at “Conservatório de Música Calouste Gulbenkian de Braga” and “Companhia da Música – Fundação Bomfim em Braga”. Since 2010 is Saxophone Professor at University of do Minho, Portugal. He developed, as a pedagogue, a saxophone class, with students awarded in a several national and international competitions.
He is currently a PhD student in Performing Arts at the University of Lisbon / ESML.
